晚上有一頓美餐，離家在外工作的人也要回來團圓。晚飯后，人們點亮燈籠，一般是紅色的圓燈籠。孩子們會高高興興地玩他們的玩具燈籠。
晚上月亮又圓又大，人們在賞月的同時吃著中秋節特別的食品——月餅。人們在一起回顧過去，展望未來。據說天上有一條龍，它要把月亮吞下去。為了保護月亮，孩子們要弄出很大的響動把龍嚇跑。
